Background about Preston L. Harden:
Preston is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and has been a committed supporter of Barack Obama's campaign since his intent to run for the Democratic Presidential nomination. On Saturday, April 19th - Preston was elected as an Obama Delegate by the constituents of the 7th Congressional district of Gwinnett, which includes Dacula, Duluth, Grayson, Liburn, Sugar Hill, Lawrenceville, Loganville, Norcross, Snellville, Suwannee, Berkeley Lake and Buford county. As a devoted supporter, Preston founded Georgia Young Professionals for Change - and lead door-to-door canvassing efforts in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Texas. Preston was also instrumental in assisting the Obama campaign roll-out the National "Get Out the Vote" - Voter's Registration Drive at the Georgia World Congress Center where over 1,000 (+) new applicants was registered. Lastly, Preston coordinated on-line fundraiser, lead interstate phone canvassing efforts to engage voters in key primary/caucus states, developed a Super Delegate Letter writing campaign to gain support for Senator Obama and an active member of the Gwinnett County Party.
Preston received a Bachelor of Business Management degree with a concentration in Human Resources from Clayton State University. Preston has received numerous awards and in 2007, Preston L. Harden was featured and recognized in Who's Who in Black Atlanta: The 10th Anniversary Edition. Preston has a passion for enabling youth, and as a result, was instrumental in establishing Blacks at Microsoft Student Day for the Atlanta-based location. The goal of the program is to provide high school minority students with information about the exciting tools, resources and career opportunities available. Preston also finds time to participate with local career day programs evangelizing the passion for technology and education. Today, Preston is actively involved in the Big Brothers Mentor Program, Habitat for Atlanta, Hands on Atlanta, AID Gwinnett and United Way VIP Alumni. Preston is the proud son of Charles Harden and the late beloved Sarah F. Harden.
